Enamelon is formulated with stabilized stannous fluoride plus amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) technology. This formulation offers an effective at-home treatment plan for sensitivity relief, in addition to prevention of caries and gingivitis. Enamelon treats sensitivity by blocking the exposed tubules with a combination of stannous ions along with fluoride, calcium, and phosphate salts. This creates a physical barrier that covers open dentinal tubules to prevent external stimuli from causing pain or discomfort.

Enamelon’s patent-pending formula contains 970 ppm fluoride, which uses calcium and phosphate ions to uniquely deliver high levels of fluoride uptake. Enamelon is designed to reduce the solubility of enamel, preventing demineralization of the tooth surface when exposed to acids. Enamelon Preventive Treatment Gel is also said to decrease enamel solubility, providing protection against acid challenges.
Users, parents, and caregivers commonly apply up to twice the amount of recommended toothpaste when brushing. Enamelon offers reduced-size orifices, so users, parents, and caregivers can easily control dispensing or dosage. Additionally, Enamelon products do not contain sodium lauryl sulfate, which is commonly found in 5,000-ppm fluoride toothpastes and 1,100-ppm to 1,500-ppm fluoride over-the-counter toothpastes.
