ANESTHETIC REVERSAL AGENT INDICATED FOR AGES 3 AND OLDER

Septodont, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, announces that the United States Food and Drug Administration has reduced the minimum age for OraVerse. Previously indicated only for children age 6 and older, it now is approved for children as young as 3. OraVerse (phentolamine mesylate) is formulated to rapidly reverse lip and tongue numbness, as well as associated functional deficits resulting from an intraoral submucosal injection of a local anesthetic containing a vasoconstrictor. IMAGE DELIVERY SYSTEM

Midmark Dental, Dayton, Ohio, manufactures the dental imaging solution ClearVision CR Dental Reader. This image delivery system is said to be an easy, cost-effective way for busy dental practices to rapidly deliver high-quality digital images. The unit boasts a small footprint and an automated, magnetized feeding tray. The reader follows the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standard and uses a range of bitewing and intraoral imaging plates. A size 4c plate is available, which enables clinicians to capture more anatomy on a single image without software stitching. Ultradent Products Inc, South Jordan, Utah, has introduced three new flavors to its Enamelast fluoride varnish line: cool mint, bubble gum, and orange cream—in addition to the original walterberry flavor. This product, which is touted as a fluoride varnish that does not leave uncomfortable or gritty residue, applies nearly invisible on dentition. This virtually eliminates post-appointment embarrassment as patients carry on with their daily routines. ULTRASONIC CLEANER

SciCan, Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, announces the debut of its StatClean Ultrasonic Cleaner. Due to a 1.6-gallon tank and self-docking lid, the StatClean can hold a variety of instruments in its unique handsfree drying basket. According to SciCan, StatClean’s 4.5 mm thick, engineered-grade plastic wall housing is one of the quietest on the market. Two ultrasonic transducers provide uniform distribution of ultrasonic waves, strong cleaning, and high durability. Philips Oral Healthcare, Stamford, Connecticut, introduces the Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Connected—a smart toothbrush that tracks toothbrushing in real time. It syncs with a free smartphone app to create a personalized mouth map, helping users identify missed spots while providing technique instruction. The brush monitors each area of the mouth without a camera, giving users the freedom to move while brushing. A SmartTimer feature helps ensure that users brush for 2 minutes, while the BrushPacer prompts them to move to the next area. To protect gingiva, sensors warn when too much pressure is applied. DENTAL ANESTHETIC NASAL SPRAY
