Newly appointed Dean of Georgia Highlands College (GHC) Division of Health Sciences, Michelle Boyce, RDH, AASDH, BSDH, MHS, already has big plans for the department. Specifically, she is collaborating with local health care organizations and other departments to determine the need for additional programs and the expansion of current health science programs at the college.
“I am very proud of the dental hygiene and nursing programs at GHC,” Boyce tells Dimensions of Dental Hygiene. “Local dental offices and hospitals want to hire our graduates, so it is exciting to be at the head of the division.”
Boyce joined GHC in 2011 as a dental hygiene instructor before serving as interim dean of the Division of Health Sciences in 2016. She was appointed full dean on January 1. In her new role, Boyce intends to continue the interprofessional collaboration between the health science programs—dental hygiene and nursing—and to add additional programs.
