As the US Nears 1 Million Deaths, Some Want Day of Remembrance
In the United States the death toll due to COVID-19 has surpassed 960,000 and is expected to hit 1 million in the near future. A new organization, Marked by COVID-19, wants to highlight this sad milestone with a day of remembrance for those lost during the global pandemic. The group is advocating for a COVID-19 memorial day each year on the first Monday of March as well as physical monuments to be installed around the country. Currently, a House Congressional bill to initiate such a memorial day has 67 co-sponsors. Click here to read more.
