My patient has a monitor implanted-to check his heart rate. It is not a pacemaker. Can I use ultrasonics on him?

If your patient has an insertable cardiac monitor (ICM), there are no known contraindications for dental treatment. Medical (therapeutic) ultrasound is not recommended for patients with ICMs, but dental ultrasonics will not interfere with these devices.
