EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Discuss the signs and symptoms of each stage of Alzheimer’s disease (AD).
  2.  Identify the risk factors for developing AD.
  3. Explain the potential for periodontal bacteria and systemic inflammation to contribute to the development and progression of AD.
  4. List the important components of a dental hygiene care plan for patients with AD.
