Anissa Salem Yafai, RDH, MSHCM, is a full-time assistant professor in the Department of Dental Hygiene at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, where she teaches dental science, periodontics, and public health. She has taken on teledentistry initiatives within her community pre- and post-pandemic to improve access to care within underserved populations. Kristen Moses Thomas, RDH, EPDH, DT(c), MS, is a full-time assistant professor and the restorative hygiene lead in the Department of Dental Hygiene at Pacific University. She is passionate about access to care and outreach to at-risk populations. Thomas hopes that this enthusiasm inspires her students to pursue this important work in local and global communities.
