Sivaraman Prakasam, BDS, MSD, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Periodontology at Oregon Health & Sciences University in Portland. A diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, he has published papers in several refereed journals. Prakasams research interests include: the role of innate immune responses in pathogenesis and progression of periodontal diseases; clinical trials in periodontal regeneration and implant site development; and improving safety and efficacy of dental implant therapy through a checklist-based system.
