PETAL C. LEUWAISEE, RDH, CHES, BSDH, MA, is a tenured associate professor in the Dental Hygiene Unit of the Allied Health Department at the City University of New York, Hostos Community College in the Bronx. Her teaching responsibilities include freshman clinical coordination, periodontology, and community dental health. She has more than 21 years of dental experience and has been a dental hygiene educator for 14 years. Her research interests include ergonomics, advanced instrumentation, and community health and disease prevention.
