Elizabeth I. Pitts, RDH, MS, is an adjunct clinical lecturer
in the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine in the Dental
Hygiene Program at the University of Michigan (U-M) School of
Dentistry in Ann Arbor. Her teaching responsibilities focus on clinical
