Oral Infection Diagnosis and Treatment System Debuts in The US

Oravital Inc has launched its proprietary Oravital Oral Health System, which is designed to treat periodontal diseases and oral malodor. The Toronto, Ontario, Canada-based company has found success through its Canadian dental office network and hopes to mimic this achievement in the United States dental market.

The Oravital Oral Health System comprises five steps that are based on identifying the cause of oral infection through microbial analysis and tests for bleeding gingiva prior to scaling. After diagnosis, treatment includes the use of a patient-customized antibiotic mouthrinse for 2 weeks paired with a self-care regimen. More information is available at: oravital.com.

NASCAR Champion Promotes Oral Health

Jeff Gordon, NASCAR Cup Series champion, helped educate more than 500 children about good oral health habits at the LeGore and Keenan-Stahl Boys & Girls Clubs in Indianapolis. The July 28 event was sponsored by the American Dental Association Foundation’s Give Kids a Smile® program, 3M ESPE Dental, CareCredit, Henry Schein Cares, and Church & Dwight.

3M ESPE Dental has partnered with the Give Kids a Smile program for the past 4 years to bring oral health education to underserved youth and race fans in conjunction with NASCAR race weekends. In addition to learning about oral health and NASCAR racing from Jeff Gordon via video, the children played games, had their picture taken with Gordon’s No. 24 3M Chevy SS race car, and received a gift bag that included a toothbrush, toothpaste, sugar-free gum, stickers with dental tips, and parent/caregiver educational materials.
