New Study Investigates the Impact of COVID-19 on Dentists’ Mental Health
A study out of the University of Saskatchewan (USask) College of Dentistry in Saskatoon, Canada, used the COVID-19 Anxiety Syndrome scale to analyze the pandemic’s effects on dentists. The study used both social and biological indicators, including cortisol levels measured from saliva samples sent by participating dentists. Results over 10 months confirmed heightened stress levels and mental strain among dentists due to pandemic-related changes in their clinical practices. This research also paves the way for broader cross-country studies facilitated by USask’s sample collection. Click here to read more.
