Medicaid to Offer Dental Benefits to Pregnant and Post-Partum Patients

Medicaid enrollees who are pregnant or up to 60-days post-partum will receive dental benefits beginning October 1. The new benefit applies to all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The United States Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services also announced that it has extended Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program coverage for pregnant women up to 1 year following pregnancy in the state of North Carolina, which initially failed to accept federal Medicaid expansion when it was offered in 2014 but has since passed a bill expanding Medicaid in June 2022.
