Dr. Evis Babo of Peachtree Smile Center Named President of the Northern District Dental Society

ATLANTA, Nov. 15, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Dr. Evis Babo of Atlanta’s Peachtree Smile Center was named President of the Northern District Dental Society (NDDS) on September 1, 2015. The NDDS is a 1,300 member organization that represents the dental profession throughout the Atlanta area. As a member of the Georgia Dental Association and the American Dental Association, the NDDS offers continuing dental education programs to dental professionals and is involved with legislative issues that impact dental care and provide an avenue for grievance mediation and peer review.

As president, Dr. Babo of Peachtree Smile Center will represent dentists from the 12 county area surrounding Atlanta. “I’m very excited to be part of the Northern District Dental Society. My primary goal as president is to increase participation and membership throughout the district,” stated Dr. Babo. “In addition, serving as president is a great way to give back to the community at large. The society supports dental related charities that serve the underprivileged in our community. As a graduate of Boston University and Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Babo has been recognized by her peers for devotion to dentistry and her leadership skills. According to Dr. Babo, “In order to lead, you must be ready to serve.” In addition to her work with the NDDS, she is committed to increasing diversity in organized dentistry. She also is the meeting chair of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, Georgia section, the chair of the Hinman Dental Society Annual Meeting, and a member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Babo is also a member of the American College of Dentists and became a member of the International College of Dentists during the 2015 ADA Annual Session in Washington D.C.

Peachtree Smile Center provides dental care for the entire family. Dr. Babo recommends twice-yearly dental cleanings and oral examinations to detect problems before they become more serious. Oral examinations include an inspection of the oral cavity, neck and jaw for signs of oral cancer which is a particularly aggressive form of cancer.
