An Integrative Approach to Periodontal Health

P4 medicine, which encompasses participation, prediction, prevention, and personalization, offers new avenues to manage the various stages of periodontal diseases.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

1. Explain the concepts of P4 medicine and, by extension, P4 periodontal management and therapy.
2. Discuss the prevalence of oral conditions, including periodontal diseases, that negatively impact quality of life for the world population.
3. Describe basic tenets of the new classification system for periodontal disease, as well as current and novel approaches to caring for these patients.
