EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Identify the indications and contraindications of the infraorbital (IO), anterior middle superior alveolar (AMSA), and maxillary nerve blocks.
  2. Note the areas anesthetized by the IO, AMSA, and maxillary nerve blocks.
  3. Discuss the suggested technique for administering these alternative injections.
