After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Describe the causes of mandibular anesthesia failure.
  2. Discuss indications and contraindications for the Gow-Gates (GG) and Vazirani-Akinosi (VA) mandibular nerve blocks.
  3. Explain how to safely and effectively perform both GG and VA mandibular nerve blocks.
