Jill L. McNitt-Gray, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Biomedical Engineering, and Biological Sciences and the director of the Biomechanics Research Laboratory at the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles. Her research focuses on the ongoing interaction between the neural control, musculoskeletal dynamics, and the environment during whole body movement. The aim of this research is to determine how the control system uses existing capabilities, system dynamics, and interaction with the environment to satisfy task performance objectives without sustaining injury.
