SD Dental Hygienists Are Now Mandatory Reporters

Via new legislation signed into law by Governor Kristi Noem, dental hygienists will now be mandatory reporters of suspected incidents of child abuse and neglect in the state of South Dakota. 

Via new legislation signed into law by Governor Kristi Noem, dental hygienists will now be mandatory reporters of suspected incidents of child abuse and neglect in the state of South Dakota. 

According to a 2019 United States Department of Health and Human Services report, South Dakota joins Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, New York, and North Dakota as states that specifically identify dental hygienists as mandatory reporters.
