
Vitamin D Deficiency Linked to COVID-19 Severity
A new study published in PLOS ONE showed that among those who became infected with SARS-CoV-2, individuals with low levels of vitamin D experienced more severe COVID-19 illness and were more likely to die than those with normal levels of vitamin D. The Israeli study looked at 253 patients with recorded vitamin D deficiency who then went on to contract SARS-CoV-2 and require hospitalization. Individuals with low vitamin D levels were 14 times more likely to develop severe illness and critical illness than those with normal levels. Click here to read more.
