Oral Health America Welcomes Six New Board of Directors Members 

CHICAGO, March 17, 2017 – Oral Heath America (OHA) proudly announces six new members of its Board of Directors. Charged with ensuring the strategic planning and policies of OHA, these board members bring unique and diverse backgrounds to ensure that goals are being met and the organization is meeting its mission: to change lives by connecting communities with resources to drive access to care, increase health literacy and advocate for policies that improve overall health through better oral health for all Americans, especially those most vulnerable. 

The new Board members include: 

Karen Auiler. Ms. Auiler is the COO and CFO of AEGIS Publications, which produces high value education materials, practice resources, and events, as well as online education through CDEWorld. She brings to the Board expertise in Sales Management, Marketing, Public Relations and New Product Development. 

 Jeff Chaffin, DDS, MPH, MBA, MPA. Dr. Chaffin is the dental director of Delta Dental of Iowa and the president of the American Board of Dental Public Health. He has served at various Army bases around the world, and served in roles in policy development with the U.S. Army Surgeon General and management of the Tricare dental program for the U.S. Department of Defense. 

 Cherae Farmer-Dixon, DDS, MSPH, FACD. Dr. Farmer-Dixon is the Dean for the School of Dentistry and Professor in the Department of Dental Public Health at Meharry Medical College. Dr. Farmer-Dixon also serves her country as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve. Dr. Farmer-Dixon has been actively involved in research activities that have dealt with oral health disparities, caries in low-income children, community outreach and intervention, and addressing minority dental school enrollment. 

 Patrick (Pat) Ferrillo, Jr., BS, DDS. Dr. Ferrillo is the Retired Dean of University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. He also served as Vice Provost of Division of Health Sciences and Dean of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine and as a Director of Young Innovations, Inc. He serves as a Director of Sentage Corporation. 

 David Miller, DDS. Dr. Miller is the Director of Government Relations for Tenet Healthcare and part of the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. He is a member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 29th District from 2001 to 2011. 

 Eric Shirley. Mr. Shirley is the Vice President and General Manager of MIDMARK, Dental Division, and former DTA Chair. He is a healthcare executive with leadership experience with manufacturers and marketers of medical devices and merchandise, primarily in the dental environment.
