Neurologic Symptoms Present in Most Patients Hospitalized With COVID-19

Among patients hospitalized for COVID-19 in the greater Chicago area, 82.3% exhibited neurologic symptoms, including myalgia, headache, encephalopathy, and dizziness, at some point during their illness. Dysgeusia and anosmia were less commonly reported neurologic symptoms. Those with these nervous system side effects were younger than those patients who did not experience neurologic symptoms. Most patients recovered successfully; however, those with encephalopathy experienced higher rates of morbidity and mortality. Read more here.
