Kansas Universities Join to Streamline Dental School Admissions
MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) and Kansas City University (KCU)-Joplin College of Dental Medicine are collaborating to enable eligible MNU students to gain early admission to the dental school, bypassing the conventional application process. This initiative aims to save students time, money, and stress associated with dental school admissions. Participating students have expressed relief at the prospect of securing a dental school spot as sophomores, allowing them to focus on their academic pursuits without the worry of dental admissions tests. KCU-Joplin has a similar educational approach as MNU with supportive environments and personalized learning opportunities. Qualified MNU students must meet specific criteria, including a minimum ACT score and GPA in science courses. This collaboration aligns with both institutions’ mission to address underserved communities’ dental care needs, particularly in regions facing oral health professional shortages. The partnership, facilitated by MNU benefactor Larry McIntire, DO, builds on a successful model established in 2017, which also offers early admission to MNU’s medical school. Click here to read more.
