Two-day “Practical Approaches in Pediatric Dentistry” to build on success of inaugural event
HOUSTON, TEXAS, July 30, 2015 — The Institute for the Clinical Practice of Pediatric Dentistry (ICPPD) said today that its second “Practical Approaches in Pediatric Dentistry” seminar has been scheduled for October 16-17 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The two-day 16 CE credit hour course takes place at the state-of-the-art SimLab at the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine.
Attendees work alongside ICPPD’s experienced instructors and learn how to transform their practices by successfully treating pediatric patients while increasing production and productivity. The “Practical Approaches in Pediatric Dentistry” course exposes practicing clinicians to “game-changing” products and techniques proven to offer real solutions rather than just theory or research. Attendees discuss topics such as practical and efficient treatment planning in lecture, while in the Sim Lab enhance their competence practicing a broad range of the newest restorative techniques including full coverage zirconia and pre-veneered stainless steel crowns. Through this combination of interactive discussion and practical hands-on training attending doctors are given powerful takeaways and practical advice that can be immediately implemented once they return to their practices.
The April event received uniformly strong reviews from its attendees. Said Audrey Uker, DDS of La Crosse, Wisconsin, “The hands-on portions were excellent. Getting feedback from experienced pediatric dentists greatly increased my confidence to put the techniques into practice successfully.” ICCPD’s directors make a point of surveying past attendees in order to make their next seminar even more successful. “The most important suggestion we received was to take a ‘two-track’ approach that considers the range of pediatric experience among our attendees,” said ICPPD director Roger G. Sanger, DDS, MS. “In response to that feedback, our October event will feature Track I classes for attendees who aren’t as experienced with pediatric dentistry, and Track II classes for pediatric dentists and general practitioners who are already expert in the field.”
As in April, course instructors for the October event will be Dr. Sanger and fellow directors Ray Stewart, DMD, MS; William (Bill) F. Waggoner DDS, MS; and Stephen Wilson, DMD, MA, PhD. Together these instructors represent over 160 years of pediatric dentistry experience.
Sponsors of the event will be DOCS Education, Hu-Friedy, Isolite Systems, MacPractice, NuSmile Pediatric Crowns and SmileSavvy. Course attendees will stay at the luxurious Venetian Resort.
