BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MICH. (Jan. 13, 2016) – To show support of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s vision and dedication to community , Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC) will once again donate five percent of the revenue generated through patient services from all offices on Martin Luther King Day, January 18, to community organizations across the United States. GEDC patients are encouraged to take part in giving back by scheduling their dental check-ups for January 18.

This is the sixth year that GEDC will donate a percentage of its daily revenue from all offices on MLK Day. Through the fundraiser, GEDC contributed $52,000 in 2015 alone and has contributed more than $300,000 since the inception of this initiative. Nonprofit organizations receiving a portion of the funds include The Children’s Center, Winning Futures, The King Center, Ronald McDonald House, Uplift Our Youth, Make-A-Wish, Moorehouse College and Meharry School of Dentistry, among others.

“Great Expressions Dental Centers is fully invested in the communities that we are privileged to serve, with a large presence in Dr. King’s birthplace of Atlanta,” said Richard Beckman, CEO of Great Expressions Dental Centers. “Our doctors were the fuel behind the formation of this annual fundraiser, which has proven over the years to be a tremendous opportunity for us to follow in Dr. King’s footsteps and do our part to contribute to the greater good.”

Patients can support the initiative by scheduling an appointment at a GEDC office on January 18 for hygiene treatments, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign and more.
