Germicidal Ultraviolet Light May Stop Spread of Novel Coronavirus

As SARS-CoV-2 is known to spread via aerosols during medical procedures and possibly in other instances, it is hoped that germicidal ultraviolet (UV) light may inactivate virus-carrying microbes, helping to disinfect the air in indoor settings. Germicidal UV has been shown to be effective against airborne transmission of measles, tuberculosis, and SARS-CoV-1. Some dental practices, healthcare settings, and restaurants have installed germicidal UV systems to keep their clients and staff safe during the pandemic. Read more here.
