Forward Science Technologies launches chair side test for oral pH, phID™

HOUSTON, TX June 15— Since its inception in 2012, Forward Science Technologies (FST) has continued to provide products and services to enhance oral healthcare. FST’s initial launch was centered on their flagship product OralID, an oral cancer screening device that utilizes the latest in fluorescence technology. Following up after OralID, FST then launched a series of diagnostic tests to aid in determining the presence of oral diseases: CytID – oral swab cytology test, hpvID – oral HPV swab HPV test, PathID – oral biopsy kit. FST’s latest enhancement in diagnostics is their chair side oral pH test, phID.

With your mouth being the gateway to your body, there is a current emphasis in oral health and oral pH is a major focus that. Being able to monitor pH is a goal of healthcare providers, and with the launch of phID clinicians can now do so. Continuing to enhance oral healthcare with additional diagnostic tests, FST’s phID test is the first standalone oral pH test on the market.

phID is a simple, chair side test that allows clinicians to quantify the oral pH of their patients. With this data, clinicians can now quantify the risks associated with each patient. This pH test could change the way clinicians diagnose and treat patients.

If a person’s mouth is acidic, that person is prone to tooth decay, has increased levels of bacteria in their mouth, making them prone to gum disease (gingivitis) and loss of teeth. Thus, it is important for a person to have their pH checked when they see their dentist.
