Florida Is Dead Last in Children’s Ability to Access Dental Care
According to a report by CareQuest Institute, Florida is the worst state in the nation for children’s oral health. The state has the highest number of kids seeking dental care in hospital emergency departments for dental diseases that are highly preventable including abscesses, dental caries, stomatitis, and chronic gingivitis. Seeking care in hospital settings also has financial effects. Florida hospitals charged more than $550 million in 2021 for the treatment of preventable oral health problems. Click here to read more.
