After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Identify the various types of contraceptives and prevalence of use among United States women.
  2. Describe the oral health effects associated with different methods of contraception, as well as therapeutic indications other than birth control.
  3. Discuss the clinical benefits of understanding contraceptive therapies and recognizing the potential adverse oral health effects.
