Samar Shaikh, BDS, MS, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. She serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Periodontology at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston and maintains a part-time position at a private practice in Portland, Maine.


Pooyan Refahi, DMD, MS, is an adjunct professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and a periodontist practicing in the greater Boston area. A diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, he is a contributing author for the textbook Clinical Cases in Periodontics and founder of the South Shore Comprehensive Study Club.
