CDA Launches Relief Fund for Oral Health Professionals Affected by LA Wildfires
The California Dental Association Foundation is providing disaster relief grants and accepting donations to support dentists and dental team members impacted by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. With recovery efforts underway, the dental community is coming together to provide financial aid, resources, and compassion during this challenging time.
The California Dental Association (CDA) Foundation has stepped up to assist oral health professionals affected by the catastrophic wildfires in Los Angeles County. Through its Southern California Wildfire Relief Fund, the foundation is accepting tax-deductible donations to help dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, dental business office staff, and laboratory technicians recover from the devastation. The fund is part of a larger effort to address immediate needs and long-term recovery in the dental community.
Thus far, 29 dentists in the region have already reported claims to the insurance companies. CDA anticipates this number to rise as more reports come in. Individual dental professionals and staff are encouraged to apply for the foundation’s disaster relief grant, which provides financial assistance for emergency needs. Applications will be accepted through April 7.
The wildfires, including the Palisades and Eaton fires, have caused widespread destruction, claiming at least 24 lives and displacing thousands. In response, CDA has donated dental kits to nonprofit organizations and is collaborating with Henry Schein to develop a supplies relief fund.
