Scott L. Tomar, DMD, MPH, DrPH, is a professor and the interim chair of the Department of Community Dentistry and Behavioral Science at the University of Florida College of Dentistry in Gainesville. His major research interests include understanding and eliminating disparities in oral health, oral health surveillance, community-based prevention of oral disease, and facilitating access to care for vulnerable populations. Tomar serves as chair of the American Public Health Association's Oral Health Section and is editor of the Journal of Evidence-Based Dental Practice. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Dental Public Health and serves as an advisor for New York University Lutheran's Dental Public Health Residency Program.
