Constanza E. Fernandez, DDS, PhD, is a research scholar at the University of Michigan (U-M) School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, where she studies the effect of different formulations of fluoride dentifrices on dental biofilms and demineralization. She recently finished the PhD program in dentistry and cariology at the Faculty of Dentistry of Piracicaba, State University of Campinas, UNICAMP, in Campinas, So Paulo, Brazil. Fernndez received a government scholarship from Chile to attend the doctorate program in Brazil and the research internship in the United States.
