Lisa Bilich, RDH, BSDH, MEd, worked in private practice for 12 years before following her passion: dental hygiene education. In 2002, she started as a clinical instructor at her alma mater, Eastern Washington University (EWU) in Spokane. Today, Bilich is a professor and chair of the Department of Dental Hygiene at EWU, and serves as the school’s expert in dental endoscopy and periodontology. Her educational interests include integrating technology into dental hygiene education and the use of human patient simulation for the practice of medical emergency management in the dental office. Bilich is a contributor to Dimensions of Dental Hygiene and its new student website. @professor_lisa
Cheryl Calmis, RDH, BS, has had a variety of dental hygiene-related experiences throughout her career, including working as a dental hygienist in the San Mateo, California area for more than 20 years. She is a professional educator for Waterpik, and has written articles on various dental/medical subjects. @brush_n_floss
