Dental Hygienist Publishes a How-to Book on Ergonomics
Susan S. Parker, RDH, MEd, MBA, a contributor to Dimensions of Dental Hygiene and former member of the journal’s Peer Review Panel, has authored a book to help oral health professionals maintain their musculoskeletal health despite the ergonomic challenges of providing dental care.

Parker, RDH, MEd, MBA, a contributor to Dimensions of Dental Hygiene and former member of the journal’s Peer Review Panel, has authored a book to help oral health professionals maintain their musculoskeletal health despite the ergonomic challenges of providing dental care. The easy-to-read manual, Ergonomics in the Dental Office, discusses the principles of ergonomics, explains the causes of musculoskeletal disorders, and provides straightforward strategies to minimize the physical challenges faced many clinicians.
Parker is a retired associate professor of clinical comprehensive dentistry at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans where she taught ergonomics. She is also certified in both Pilates Reformer and Pilates mat.
