Dental Hygienist Educator and Author Recognized for Her Service

Olga A.C. Ibsen, RDH, MS, FAADH, was recently honored with the William K. Collins Sr. Meritorious Service Award from the Commission on Dental Competency Assessment–Western Regional Examining Board–Council of Interstate Testing Agencies (CDCA-WREB-CITA).

Olga A.C. Ibsen, RDH, MS, FAADH, was recently honored with the William K. Collins Sr. Meritorious Service Award from the Commission on Dental Competency Assessment–Western Regional Examining Board–Council of Interstate Testing Agencies (CDCA-WREB-CITA) for her 20 years of service to the dental care competency organization.

Serving the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Jamaica, CDCA-WREB-CITA is focused on the creation and administration of competency assessments for oral health professions.

An expert in oral pathology, Ibsen has promoted oral health, taught dental hygiene students, and provided practitioners with continuing education for more than 50 years. She is best known as co-author of the highly regarded textbook, Oral Pathology for the Dental Hygienist. She is a member of Dimensions of Dental Hygiene’s Editorial Advisory Board and the 2017 recipient of the journal’s Esther Wilkins Lifetime Achievement Award.
