Celebrate National Dental Hygiene Month

October is National Dental Hygiene Month, with all 31 days dedicated to increasing public awareness about the importance of maintaining good oral health.

October is National Dental Hygiene Month, with all 31 days dedicated to increasing public awareness about the importance of maintaining good oral health. The campaign is lead by the American Dental Hygienists’ Association. As in the past, the four pillars of National Dental Hygiene Month are brush, floss, rinse, and chew. The public awareness campaign will promote the importance of these steps, which are collectively called the “Daily 4.” Dental hygienists are encouraged to remind patients to brush twice daily, floss every day, rinse with antimicrobial mouthrinse, and chew sugar-free gum. Resources and product samples are available for viewing and download at adha.org/national-dentalhygiene-month.
