CDC Releases New Overview On Infection Control Guidelines

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released the Summary of Infection Prevention Practices in Dental Settings: Basic Expectations for Safe Care in March.

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released the Summary of Infection Prevention Practices in Dental Settings: Basic Expectations for Safe Care in March. The summary combines the recommendations provided by the CDC’s Guidelines for Infection Control in Dental Health-Care Settings– 2003 with additional information to support oral health professionals in their quest to uphold the highest standard of infection control in the dental arena. The summary highlights the fundamental elements needed to prevent transmission of infectious agents in the dental setting, discusses relevant CDC recommendations, and includes a variety of checklists to evaluate prevention practices.
