C-Doctor Receives $30 Million Grant to Investigate Regenerative Therapies for Oral Applications
The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) has awarded the Center for Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Tissue and Organ Regeneration (C-DOCTOR) a $30 million grant to further explore regenerative therapies.

The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) has awarded the Center for Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Tissue and Organ Regeneration (C-DOCTOR) a $30 million grant to further explore regenerative therapies.
A group of California universities dedicated to creating new regenerative therapies to replace dental, oral, and craniofacial tissues or organs lost to congenital disorders, traumatic injuries, diseases, and medical procedures, C-DOCTOR includes the University of Southern California; University of California (UC), San Francisco; UC Los Angeles; UC Berkeley; UC Davis, UC San Diego; Stanford University; and the City of Hope.
The consortium began its work in 2016 after the NIDCR put out the call for universities to collaborate on safe and effective techniques for dental, oral, and craniofacial tissue regeneration. The grant money will fund the group’s research into technologies to regenerate bone, salivary glands, and craniofacial musculature and strategies to treat temporomandibular joint-related arthritis.
