The new biography of dental hygiene’s beloved matriarch, Esther M. Wilkins, RDH, BS, DMD, will be released in July. The Esther M. Wilkins Story, as Told by Her Friends: An Authorized Biography by Pam Bretschneider is currently available for pre-order from the publisher Wolters Kluwer, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble, and will debut at the American Dental Hygienists’ Association meeting in June in Columbus, Ohio. The book details her incredible life as a pioneering author, teacher, advocate, and mentor. Bretschneider, Wilkins’ longtime friend and colleague, shares the story of the trailblazer who devoted most of her life to the dental hygiene profession and wrote the world-renowned textbook, Clinical Practice of the Dental Hygienist, which was first published in 1959.
