The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Foundation Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children partnered with the University of Washington Center for Pediatric Dentistry to host Dental Home Day on May 20 in Seattle. Dental Home Day calls attention to the importance of giving every child a dental home—a continuing relationship with a dentist that addresses oral health in a comprehensive, continuously accessible, coordinated, and family-centered way. As part of this year’s event, which was sponsored by Sunstar Americas Inc, Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children and the University of Washington will provide subsidized dental care to 150 children with limited access to such care in the greater Seattle area. Participants will receive checkups, cleanings, and restorative work, as well as follow-up care for 1 year.
