Scientists Who Publicly Discuss COVID-19 Face Abuse, Threats

Survey results recently published in Nature found that of the 321 scientist respondents, 22% had endured threats of physical or sexual violence and 15% had received death threats after speaking, commenting, or publishing about COVID-19. A quarter of respondents noted they always received harassment after commenting on the pandemic publicly, and that nearly half had experienced negative physical and psychological effects as a result of the abuse.
