RDHAPs Take the Stage at Dimensions’ Discovery EXPO
An expert RDHAP panel will tackle scope clarity, sustainable business models, patient access, and the future of independent dental hygiene practice in California at this summer’s most anticipated meeting.

The Registered Dental Hygienist in Advanced Practice (RDHAP) Panel Discussion at Dimensions’ Discovery EXPO, held August 7–8, 2026, in Anaheim, California, will bring together leading RDHAPs to examine the current landscape and future direction of independent hygiene in the state. Moderated by Elly Francisco, MSDH, RDHAP, and Jeannette Diaz, DHSc, MPH, MS, RDH, RDHAP, FADHA, the session will open with an overview of RDHAP history, scope of practice, and the evolving regulatory environment, providing attendees with clarity on what is permitted, where compliance challenges arise, and how to reduce risk while serving vulnerable populations.

Subsequent segments will focus on building sustainable practices, covering portable, mobile, and brick-and-mortar models; reimbursement strategies; teledentistry; interim therapeutic restorations; and practical approaches to managing overhead without burnout. Additional discussions will highlight RDHAPs’ mission to improve access to care, partnerships with public health programs, grant opportunities, and methods for measuring community impact. The panel will also address marketing, visibility, and professional communication, offering strategies to help patients and referral sources better understand and access RDHAP services.
Designed as both a practical roadmap and a forward-looking conversation, the session will conclude with an interactive Q&A exploring advocacy, workforce needs, technology integration, and leadership opportunities within California’s expanding independent hygiene model. Sign up here.
