The Re-Emergence of Measles

M. Suzanne Mathis, RDH, MS, is an assistant professor of dental hygiene in the Department of Allied Health Professions, College of Allied Health Sciences, at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia. She has 22 years of clinical experience and has been teaching dental hygiene since 2014. Mathis is currently the course director for dental microbiology, dental anatomy, dental materials lab, and senior practicum. During the summer, she works in private practice to keep her clinical skills sharp. In addition to teaching didactic and clinical courses, Mathis participates in scholarly work. Recently, she and a colleague received a $10,000 grant to purchase local anesthesia manikins, innervation models, and additional manipulatives to teach local anesthesia at Augusta University.
