Philadelphia Mayoral Candidate Experiences Dental Emergency

Cherelle Parker was knee deep into her campaign to win the Democratic primary in Philadelphia’s mayoral race when she learned she needed a tooth extracted. It was February and the field was competitive with more than five contenders. So, Parker decided to delay dental surgery until the primary was complete. Thus, Parker had to learn the hard way that oral healthcare needs to be a priority in order to maintain overall health. She had the tooth extracted on May 12 and she won the election on May 17. Unfortunately, she was unable to attend her own victory party due to complications with the extraction. Parker was hospitalized at the University of Pennsylvania. Click here to read more.
