New Dental School Launches Mobile Dental Clinic to Boost Student Training and Community Care
The Pacific Dental Services Foundation has donated a fully equipped mobile dental clinic to High Point University Workman School of Dental Medicine. This initiative will enable dental students to deliver vital care to underserved communities across North Carolina while gaining practical experience.
The Pacific Dental Services Foundation has generously donated a state-of-the-art mobile dental clinic to High Point University (HPU) Workman School of Dental Medicine. This fully equipped RV, featuring two dental chairs, will play a crucial role in expanding dental care access for underserved populations in North Carolina. The mobile dental clinic, which previously served more than 5,700 patients nationwide and provided over $4 million in free dental treatments, will now be utilized by HPU students to apply their academic knowledge in practical settings.
The donation reflects a shared commitment by both the Pacific Dental Services Foundation and HPU to enhance community service and address critical gaps in oral healthcare. With North Carolina experiencing a notable shortage of dental providers, particularly in rural areas, the mobile dental clinic offers a significant opportunity for dental students to gain hands-on experience while contributing to the health of underserved communities. The mobile clinic will be integral in providing free dental and medical services through partnerships with local medical providers, focusing on communities with limited access to care.
