More Than 200 Products Added to Disinfectants Effective Against SARS-CoV-2

On March 25, 2020, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) added more than 200 EPA-registered disinfectant products to the list of those that are effective against the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. Forty products made the cut after undergoing the agency’s new expedited review process. Although none of the products on the EPA’s list have been tested against SARS-CoV-2, they have proven effective against difficult-to-kill viruses or other human coronaviruses similar to SARS-CoV-2. The EPA has also updated the list to include each product’s active ingredient and the amount of time the surface should remain wet to achieve efficacy. The list is also now sortable and printable, improving ease of use. To view the list, click here.
