Moderna Creates New Iterations of Its COVID-19 Booster Shot

Scientists at Moderna have been hard at work on a COVID-19 booster redesigned to provide protection against at least two SARS-CoV-2 variants in addition to creating a vaccine that could be combined with a flu shot. The company is currently testing a booster designed for efficacy against the Omicron variant in a United States-based study in addition to a booster shot combined with the flu vaccine, which is undergoing clinical trial in the United Kingdom.
