Hospital Visiting Restrictions May Ease in Spite of Rising COVID-19 Cases

With no end in sight for the global COVID-19 pandemic, hospitals are evaluating the impact of severely restricting or barring visitors all together. In January 2020, more than 90% of hospitals prevented any visitors or severely limited them due to the high risk of SARS-CoV-2 transmission. Now with available vaccines and the performance of elective procedures once again, hospitals must consider the risks inherent to preventing families from supporting patients in inpatient settings.
