HHS to Close Payment Gap for COVID-19 Vaccinations

The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will provide reimbursement to vaccine providers for underinsured patients whose health plans do not cover immunizations. The HHS will use funds from the federal COVID-19 Assistance Fund to reimburse providers at the set Medicare rate for vaccinations. COVID-19 vaccinations come at no cost in the US but providers incur additional expenses for administering them such as staffing, storage, and training costs. Click here to read more.
